Our Experts
He is a practicing anesthesiologist with a clinical focus on ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blocks. He started my professional career in private practice before becoming a UC San Diego faculty. His niche is at the intersection of technology and medicine through the role as Associate Dean of Simulation Education and Vice Chair of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. His background as a chemical engineer has allowed him to collaborate with others on innovative medical device and pharmaceutical development projects as well as organize educational programs that promote innovation in healthcare.

Fundamental Problems
The amount of Physician time and School of Medicine resources required to train our students, like taking a good history and generating a good note is very challenging.”

Nursing school, it also really matters in learning that you get the rationale for why answers are incorrect versus just learning what is the correct answer.
Vanessa Ramos
In order for you to get into nursing school, you have to have all your prerequisites... Sometimes people don't get in even if they score high.

Expert feedback by Dr. P. Suresh on the prototype!
Prototype Feedback
This is a very important problem to solve. It will be useful to improve patient outcomes.
“VERY GOOD”
Dr. Preetham Suresh
I wish I had that when I was in nursing school. Your project seems amazing!

"Aids for learning - with pictures of like animations, with proper explanation... It's really cool."

“Having an AI run in the background to be able to automate some of these processes and give our students good feedback about their history taking physical exam skills; can save a lot of money, can save a lot of time and overtime improve patient outcomes by ensuring our students are optimally trained.
When they encounter patients, especially challenging/abled patients, they are able to do a good history and generate a good note can be useful to improve patient outcomes.”

“Nurses are continually getting some sort of education that they have to submit to the Nursing Board... every 2 years you need to get 30 continuing education credits.”
“Every time they have a new system... the whole unit and the whole hospital will be trained on it.”

Protocols
We used the retrospective think-aloud protocol
Ask user about their experience and understand the context of their problems. Then we make a list of the problems they have seen in medical school
Show the figma prototype to the expert. Give a demo. Then we let them navigate around it.
When have used it, we gather their feedback on the prototype - its design, features they like, and what else they want.
We used this protocol as it enables us to not only get the feedback but understand the context of it. Subsequently, the user spends time on the platform. They are able to get an understanding, and they know what features would be useful in the workflow of the prototype. Then, we gather their retrospective feedback and understand what they like, what else is needed and how the end user experience was
